Knee transplant surgery, also known as knee
arthroplasty, can be helpful in relieving pain and activating the severely diseased knee joint
back. This process involves cutting the damaged bone and cartilage from your thigh bone
calf and knee bone and replacing it with artificial joints made of alloys, high-grade plastics
and polymers;
To find out whether a knee implant is right for you, a orthopedic examines the movement,
stability and firmness of your knees. Through X-rays, it is ascertained to what extent
the damage has been done, to what extent.
Why is this done ?
Arthritis is inflammation of joints. A layer of tissue gradually rises away from the
tissue at the ends of the bones causing a loss of space in the joints and friction on the
surfaces of the bones, a regular change in bone dynamics that causes severe pain. Knee
transplant surgery is the best solution to get rid of all these problems through which the
knee can be treated and made back to fit healthy and normal activities as before.
The types of arthritis are :
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Traumatic arthritis
Symptoms
Severe joint pain that prevents your daily activities such as walking, climbing
stairs, and getting up from the chair, etc. Severe pain when sitting again, swelling in joints
that does not improve even after taking medicines and resting.
Go or not normally active
Three to six weeks after surgery, you can resume normal daily activities, such as
going shopping and doing household chores and more. If you can bend your knees enough
while sitting in a car and you have enough muscle control capacity to suppress the brakes and
accelerators, and you are not taking medications that make you sleepy then eat for three
weeks.
Driving within is also possible.
After coming back to the same position again, you can engage in activities that do
not take much strength such as walking, swimming, playing golf or riding a bike, but you
should avoid activities that are high in strength such as jogging, skiing, tennis. And
sports that involve jumping.
